HRM Monument #11: Boer War Memorial Fountain

The statue of this Canadian Mounted Rifleman, and the fountain on which it was placed, was erected in 1903 to commemorate the service of Canadian soldiers in the South African campaign. The dramatic Weeping Camperdown Elm trees surrounding the Boer War Memorial Fountain and pond in which it sits, make this a favourite shade spot in the Public Gardens where the fountain is found.
